Let’s revive the scratchpad!

Okay, many things have happened. I have bought a couple  of domains and experimented them on free hosting. Now that free hosting is all shitty, I am getting a paid one from my brother.

Till then, I’ll be crapping up this now useless blog for stuff like this. And since I hardly have any audience, I find it a non-issue.

My plans for the coming few months:

• The Mac Web (dot) com: Bought this domain via a friend. Intend to create a portal talking about Macs, their interaction with the web and the users. And all other Apple shit.
• Geek Authors (dot) com: A joint venture by Nepalese guys whom I know pretty well. And I am in there too, just that I wont invest and I will not earn.
• Other websites for clients. Yeah. Can do that. But for that, I don’t know elementary web designing.

I am taking About.com’s XHTML course spread over 10 weeks. Lets see how it fares.

Its been quite sometime I thought about having a personal domain and webspace. Finally the stars have shown the way, and I am working on plans.

This blog has been used more as a scratchpad. I have learnt quite a few things about blogging as a whole through this journey.

I thank you all readers, and promise to be back with a personal domain.

you cant fail all exams!

Now this is ridiculous. Within 2 months of the previous exam, another one lays 10 days ahead. Teasing me, taunting me and seldom haunting me. The more I study, the lesser I yield. And the cold dark clouds come down to shower me with smoke and dust, blurring out..

Man. I’m not a pennyworth at this. Anyways, its true that my exams are coming up. 10 days? Yes. We still dont have the result of previous exams though. It should have been out by now, yes my failure notice.

I do not study at all. At all. Never. Yes, thats the truth. And these guys come up saying ‘oho! taile ta padhisakis hola hai sabbai? tesaile ta cool chhas!’ Gimme a break! I’m cool, because.. I’m cool. I dont take pressure and enjoy the pace at which I do stuff, even if its a standstill!

This time, I have no other option. I have to pass. I cannot take one more round of humiliation, like a less able student. Which I am not.

And then, I have things to do. But dont know why I havent been able to do anything. I lack energy most of the time. My sleep cycle is bad. My diet is bad. I havent excercised for long. And I have to catch up on a dozen things in the internet. Stupid! Me!

when the world is filled up with goons..

When the world is filled up with goons, its very likely that someone very close to you may fit into the category as well. The ‘bhutle old man paratha apj suste*’ is one of those goons. We’ll be referring him as bompas for short.

Now, there is nothing that bad about him until someone like me is in question. I’m a worshipper of technology. I’m a heavy metal fanatic who is ready to lick the boots of Kirk Hammet. I have reserved very big space for psycho-physics in my life and I’m badly interested in politics. Basically, anyone who doesn’t follow those spheres of humanity or have an interest in them, is definitely a goon. Yes, I agree. If you go by me, 95% of the people are goons out here, but still.

I recently got my MacBook as you guys may have known by now. After having undergone so much for getting it, I deserved to be praised for the purchase. I was really happy and proud to own a Mac. I wanted to show off.

Okay, now that I have gotten somewhat used to my MacBook and Mac OS X, I should be trying out a small review right..

My MacBook

I went to Katmandu to get a Laptop for myself. Why? Because there is no way one could get a Mac in Dharan, where I stay. I could get it ordered, but these guys would overcharge like hell. And yeah, I wanted to participate in the Computer Association of Nepal – Infotech 2009.

Of Devils and Saints..

Devils have been long regarded as the manifestations of the human mind that have amalgamated with every other human civilization as the remains of some archaic beliefs linked with fear.

Does that mean that there are no devils in the real world? Absolutely not, take Osama Bin Laden as an example, or George W. Bush for that matter. They are all demons for someone or the other. And as everyone else, I too have people that I sometimes characterize as demons in my consciousness.

iPod Touch, funnest iPod anyone?

The iPod is the most popular portable music player that exists on the planet today. So much so that all PMPs are sometimes collectively referred to as iPods. It has become a must have gadjet for all kinds of music lovers. And, it has over time, become homogenous with the music industry today. With all that, I had to check what all the hype was about. Not that I haven’t used one, but a first hand experience counts the most. 

There are iPods catering to different kinds of music lovers. There’s the iPod Classic, one with a gigantic storage to dump all your media and a large screen to help yourself with movies and photos. The iPod Nano, a very popular flash based iPod which is jack of all trades. The small and stylish iPod Shuffle, ideal work-out partner. And the .. iPod Touch, the iPhone’s brother by blood. 

Its been long, I mean really long for a review. It’s been almost 3 months I got an iPod Touch.

I’m getting confused like hell about manging my e-identity. I wanted to have a universal name for all my usernames, blogs, etc. Something that defines me, a blog title that tells people what I really am, an email ID that expresses some portions of my innards.I have dozens of blogs and email IDs which havent seen the light of the day. Damn, it never works out!

I tried relating my usernames with one of my favourite action heroes, IronMan and one of my favourite metal bands, IronMaiden; by using the word ‘iron’. Even that has yet to become universal, and it does not define who I am, what I am. I might do a drastic change to my e-persona, till I become happy about it.

Now.. If you happen to read this post and not understand it, I’m sorry I did not put a statutory warning.

our beloved first PC

Our first computer was born here in Dharan itself, a few months (1-2?) after we returned from Delhi and my father completed(almost) his PhD. If memory serves me right, he bought it from Itahari, and returned the evening itself. I do remember opening the door for him and being dumbfounded looking at those huge boxes, wondering what was gonna pop out. Though I wasnt much interested as far as I remember, but mom says otherwise.

It was an assembled one. Cost around NRs 75,000. Date – sometime around September 1999.
Intel Pentium Pro 233 MHz.
32 MB RAM.
Tomato Motherboard.
4GB Harddisk.
40x CD-ROM.
650 VA UPS.
Canon BJC-1000 SP Printer. Bought sometime later, maybe a year.
Windows 98, Microsoft office 97 Pirated.

A very-very outdated and overpriced purchase for that time-frame. Pentium III’s were already available from Intel. But it was 1999 and computers weren’t taken for granted as they are nowadays, especially in Nepal. And things have always been ridiculously overpriced here.
